I use paint in works that are a large scale. A scale that that exceeds at least eight feet pushes the viewer to be swallowed by the motion and activity within the picture plane. At a larger size the texture of the piece is more apparent, a texture that is best captured with paint. The canvas are not stretched on bars but rather hung from hooks leaving a space an inch and a half from the wall. They hang like tapestries or skins. ~ 2007
